About Us.
Introducing Rupa Ayurveda beauty products. Our products have been developed to enhance your natural beauty by utilising the principles of the ancient medical system of Ayurveda.
As a practicing Ayurvedic doctor in the UK for past ten years, helping clients back to health using the principles of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic herbal medicine, I realised that as a by-product of the Ayurvedic treatment my clients would start to look and feel much healthier. So with this in mind I took the opportunity to develop a range of Ayurvedic beauty products that utilise the principles of Ayurveda and herbal ingredients that suited a particular skin type or dosha.
The products were developed with the salon in mind as beauty therapists would be trained in the principles of Ayurveda and would be able to customise an individuals beauty treatment to suit their particular dosha or skin type.
Rupa Ayurveda beauty products are developed for each particular dosha or body/skin type. A short analysis of an individual to assess their dosha Vata, Pitta or kapha and you can then select which product is most suitable for you. Each product is there to enhance your particular skin type.
Rupa Ayurveda products are developed in Sri Lanka by a team of Ayurvedic doctors, pharmacists and chemists who have vast knowledge and experience in the field of Ayurveda. Each product is developed with the principles of Ayurveda and the Ayurvedic principles of the doshas - Vata Pitta and kapha using natural herbs and ingredients where possible.

Our Philosophy.
Our Philosophy.
Rupa Ayurveda are now pleased to introduce a range of Ayurvedic beauty products.
The aim of Rupa Ayurveda is to enhance the natural beauty of your skin and achieve harmony and equilibrium for your body & mind through the age old science of Ayurveda.
As a practicing Ayurvedic doctor and lecturer in Ayurveda for the past ten years I discovered the need for a natural herbal Ayurvedic beauty product that would be suited to the particular dosha - vata, pitta or kapha along with the relevant training in Ayurveda and Ayurvedic beauty treatments. I have carefully researched the formula for each product to be able to match a particular product to the skin type or dosha with the help of my team of expert Ayurvedic doctors, pharmacists and scientists in Sri Lanka.
After three years of research we are proud to present our new range of Rupa Ayurvedic Beauty Products. We try to use as much natural organic ingredients as possible to maintain the high standard of our product.
Rupa Ayurveda was the inspiration of Dr.Deepika Rodrigo B.A.M.S. Based on many years of experience in her own Ayurvedic practice in the UK and experience with treating patients with chronic skin disorders at her clinic the idea evolved of using the principles of Ayurveda in the world of beauty treatments.
Calling on the vast wealth of Ayurvedic texts and having access to and experienced team of Ayurvedic doctors and in Sri Lanka Dr.Deepika developed a range of beauty products that are now available for you. Rupa Ayurvedic Beauty products are used by matching the products to your particular dosha, a combination of Vata, Pitta or Kapha to help get the best possible results in caring for your skin and beauty.

What is Ayurveda.
HOW DOES AYURVEDA WORK?
According to Ayurvedic fundamental's people are a combination of the three “Doshas” “Vata”, “Pitta” and “Kapha”. Each dosha has a specific quality and it is a combination of these three qualities of vata pitta and kapha that combine to make the unique qualities of every person on the planet. Just like the genetic code or DNA. The unique qualities of vata pitta and kapha are a combination of two of the five elements, Space, air, fire, water and earth.
For example -
Vata is a combination of elements Space and Air. From these elements we get the qualities of lightness, movement, wind and space. These qualities manifest in an individual as talkativeness, as sound uses the medium of air to travel in. Lightness of the body as the quality of space and air is lightness. Dryness, as the qualities of air and wind tend to dry things like the skin. Movement, the quality of air has the power to move things like a kite or a windmill but this movement manifests itself in the body as the movement of nervous energy, an impulse from the brain to the hand or leg or a nervous tremor or even the movement of food through the digestive system. These are the qualities of vata. So if we can imagine a person who is purely of a vata constitution then we can imagine a person who would be talkative, a person who has a thin bony body who has dry skin and dry hair, and maybe suffers from joint pain or stomach cramps.
Fundamentals of Ayurveda.
The Sanskrit term Ayurveda is a combination of two words Ayu or life and Veda or knowledge or science. The literal translation of Ayurveda is “knowledge of life” or “right living”. Its principles are universally applicable. Those who wish to live happy, healthy and inspired lives can benefit from the wisdom Ayurveda holds. Ayurvedic knowledge is grounded in the Vedic scriptures, which date back to 3000 BC. According to the Vedas, life is seen as an evolution of the creative principle, Prakriti, and the formless and attribute-less, non-being, Purusha. While Prakriti is the Sakthi or Divine Mother, Purusha is the Father principle, which is unchanging. Prakriti creates all forms in the universe. In their primary states all the forms contain the three gunas, or principles called Sattva, Rajas and Tamas in perfect balance. When the three gunas start to interact, the balance is disturbed. In an attempt to restore this balance, activity begins. This action creates currents of energy or space and Akash is generated. From Akash comes Air, then Fire, then water and finally Earth. Simultaneously, during this, fields are created, the mental (conscious) field created by sattva; the power field created by Rajas; and the material field created by Tamas. The five elements belong to the material field and are the building blocks of the body.

Testimonials
JILL CARTWRIGHT.
"What a relief! I have found the skincare products I know I will use
for the rest of my life. Nothing works as well on my skin as RUPA and
my skin has never looked so good."
JILL EVERETT.
1) Facial cleanser. This works so well for me. It thoroughly cleanses the face but doesnt leave the skin tight or dry. Lovely scent. Perfect!
2) Facial toner. My skin loves this, and feels good after spraying this nourishing toner on. And I love the smell
3) Facial moisturiser. This is a great moisturiser for my skin. Very unique. I have never come across a moisturiser that works this well. It leaves my skin soft and plump, fine lines seem to disappear. But unlike some other products it does not leave a thick film layer over your skin . This leaves your skin soft to the touch, not sticky, and it will not wear off. It works all day long and is never greasy. I use a very thin layer under natural minerals powders/foundations or under a tinted foundation and I love the result. Very soft and smooth. And I love the smell of it!
4) Sensitive skin creme This is great first aid for skin problems that need immediate results! it gets rid of spots overnight , and soothes rashes. A miracle creme!
5) Vata Dosha Massgae oil I use this on my skin everyday instead of a body creme and I love the results. It soaks in and leaves the texture of my skin soft and smooth. Great for lots of bare skin in the summer and making my skin look 10 years younger than it is! Body creams wear off after a few hours and skin can look dull and flaky, but with just a small amount of this massage oil, my skin looks great through the next day as well with no need for re-application.
MELANIE NOURSE.
I have been using the skincare range for over 4 weeks now and have seen a vast improvement in my skin tone and would highly recommend these products.
